My name is Trajon Campbell and I am a proud Bulldog from Hazard High School!    Not only am I a member of the HHS Student Senate Leadership Team, but I play football and baseball at Hazard.  Our HHS Student Senate “Plan” focuses on the areas of school culture, education, and our community. We are continuing many of our initiatives from previous years including our collaboration with U.K. and the T.A.P. (Tobacco-free Ambassador Partnership) project.   Our emphasis will be on providing accurate information to our students on the myths and dangers of youth vaping, that has reached epidemic proportions across the U.S. Our Student Senate Leadership Team also received the KVEC Community Challenge Grant and will be partnering with community members and organizations to be a part of the solution to revitalize downtown Hazard, while energizing the economy and public safety.  Our grant, Hazard 606, has two components and includes a coffee shop and community safety. The 606 coffee shop will meet the needs of community downtown development and the issue of community safety will be addressed with the development of the 606 Safety Net, a program for 3-D floor plans of community spaces for 911 use. Our leadership team is composed of students with diverse talents and interests and their participation in the grant was based on finding the “right fit “.  I am excited about making a difference in my school and my community.
