Bulldog Weekly
To address my problem of practice, I will be creating and implementing the Bulldog Weekly, a student-run news program to keep students, staff, and families informed. Some of the resources involved to make this project a success will include a tablet specifically for recording the news, a green backdrop, a tripod to hold the tablet when recording, and a dedicated time put into the schedule to allow students to collect information and record/edit their video. There will be a team of 10 students chosen from fourth to sixth grade to make the news program a success. Students will be chosen at the beginning of the school year after submitting an application created by myself. Based on their role, some students will be in charge of going around the school collecting information for the week from various staff members. Some students will be responsible for delivering the news (news anchors), and other students will be in charge of editing and posting the video on our school’s social media platforms. These students will begin collecting information on Wednesday the week prior to the news going out. I will evaluate my intended outcome by analyzing student, staff, and family survey responses given at the beginning of the year, and after the project has been implemented towards the end of the year.
