A Makerspace Where Dreams Come Alive
October 2016 Presentation:
Project Based Learning is challenging, but it is especially difficult in a small classroom with traditional student desks! This year my students are thrilled to have been given a large classroom with plenty of space to create and learn. They have planned and designed the new layout to accommodate for computers, 3-D printing, a conference table, and design station. The students want a dry erase surface for the conference table, so special paint will be used to allow for brainstorming. Maintenance staff will assist the students in building these pieces of furniture which saves us lots of money! Colorful stools will be purchased to provide flexible seating and standing areas will also be available. The classroom redesign will make a positive impact on the implementation of Project Based Learning and the development of a new Makerspace for Pikeville High School.
