Student Agency & Leadership
For our capstone project, we plan to establish student leadership teams at Sebastian Middle School and Breathitt County High School to work to improve school culture. we will collaborate with school administrations and student senate members to build this student leadership team, as we incorporate some of the Maxwell work to grow our student leaders. The student agency initiate of the ARI grant will be a tremendous asset to help with this project.

S.T.A.R.S. Mini Grant Recipient
We propose to create a business at Breathitt County High School that will work hand-in-hand with our Student Senate Plan and our student leadership team’s goal of improving school climate and school culture. Our business will be creating personalized window decals, magnets, bumper stickers, license plates and plaques to help support our school and bring awareness in our community to both curricular and extra-curricular activities. Once we have the materials in hand, students and sponsor will set up booths at school events to promote our products. We will advertise our business on our school and district social media sites. Students will also be taking orders outside the school events for anyone who may be interested. Our hope is to paint the school community and the town “Bobcat Blue” and increase the school pride in our community. Since we will be set up at athletic events and school sponsored activities, we will run throughout the entire school year. We hope that our business will be utilized by the school for plaques on “Awards Night” at the end of the school year.
