Building Math
Download Presentation PowerpointDuring the 2017-2018 students will participate in small group math lessons and guided instruction followed by independent work. Upon completion of independent work, students will work in small groups to build models using Lego building blocks to demonstrate the concept and or skill. When the model is complete the groups will use iPod touch to create paper slides to be reviewed by the teacher and peers for
assessment. Students will also demonstrate mastery of concepts and or skills by creating lessons as short video clips that will correspond with lessons and skills presented by the teacher. In these lesson videos, students will explain how they problem solved to answer a multitude of skills. There will be criteria that students will follow to create both paper slides and short videos.
Sitting Still? Maybe We Should Move!
Download Presentation PowerpointMy innovative vision for this year is to introduce a flexible seating arrangement. The hope is that students will be more engaged and interactive, and engage in a more physical environment.
I would like to introduce my students to a standing desk, stability balls, and hokki seats. My hope is to optimize student engagement, students increase classroom interaction, less negative behaviors, and positive physical movement.
