Project Title: The Missing Link 

S.T.A.R.S. Mini Grant Recipient 

This project will focus on improving the emotional state of those individuals living in a local military community and/or a corresponding base overseas by ensuring that soldiers are receiving emotional support if they do not have loved ones in their lives, as well as giving emotional support to spouses/families of military members while they are deployed. My students would like to write letters themselves, along with other students (grades 4 -12) to send to military members overseas. My students would also like to create a website/App that would serve as a military support group/message board for a military community. This website/App would allow military spouses/family members to get to know others at the base in which they are living, or receive emotional support from individuals who have experienced the separation due to spousal deployment, or are currently experiencing it. My students would like to name the website/App “MilTalk.” My students would like to target the Fort Campbell community to implement their project.
