Our 7th grade class used the mini-grant to host our first “Entrepreneur Fair” at Adams Middle School. All one-hundred and twenty 7th graders were involved in the event, some as sole proprietors, others as a partnership and LLC’s. Fifty-three business entities were created with the top three moving on to compete in the regional showcase at KVEC in Hazard. Winners were judged based on originality, feasibility and likelihood of success at the school. Within the E-Fair matrix, students learned about business plans, marketing concepts, types of business structures and teamwork. Students are working on the next phase of the E-Fair with video presentations/infomercials, complete with storyboards and graphic artwork via
computer and detailed scripting.
