Taking Sensory Mainstream
My project, will address the problem of addressing student’s sensory needs in co-teaching environments to lessen time away from instruction. This problem limits the potential growth for these students. Having sensory tool boxes and a calm independent reading space will allow them to grow while also becoming more independent by choosing the sensory input the student needs. To fully implement this it would take a month to organize the reading space and allow the students to compile the kits. When evaluating the success of this project we can look at behavioral tracking of the time out of the classroom and times of being overwhelmed. Once these students are given the tools to “Take Sensory Mainstream” their growth potential and independence will flourish.
Now Here this… New from Unheard Voices
In order to address the problem of low incidents students feeling unheard or not apart of the school culture, I propose to pair them with students from the Student Technology Leadership Program to produce a bi-weekly news broadcast for our school. This program would be shared on the google drive for the classes in the school and streamed live on the school Facebook page.
