Project Title: Hornet Spirit Store
S.T.A.R.S. Mini Grant Recipient
Students will create a school store that will provide school spirit items such as shirts, hats, stickers, magnets, and other spirit merchandise. There are no area businesses that furnish spirit items for our school. Even big chain stores, such as Walmart, that furnish items for other area schools, do not have Phelps merchandise. Many of our students cannot afford to purchase specially made items from small community businesses because of the expense. As a school, we have discussed the need for this type of business that will earn the school a profit, teach the students responsibility in an entrepreneurship setting, and provide the Phelps community with a much needed business. One of the most important factors, though, will be promoting school pride throughout our community.
