You Like to Write, Right?
October 2016 Presentation:
Our project, “You Like to Write, Right?” focuses on student engagement. The goal is to compare traditional writing methods, your pencil and paper version, with a technology driven writing class. We will also focus on the difference writing to a real world audience has on engagement and dedication to the writer’s craft. One group of my eighth graders will complete all assignments online, using Google Classroom, as well as prepare various writings (related to required writing formats) for their own personal blogs. The other eighth grade class will complete assignments common in your average writing classroom, i.e. writing to prompts, peer editing, revising, etc. Students will reflect on this semester of experience, and we will share our results with the world…at least the digital classroom will!
Should engagement increase, our other eighth grade class will enjoy the experience during the last semester of the school year.
