There are 25 students in my AP Calculus course at Letcher County Central High School. The AP Calculus course at LCCHS has always been taught using lecture. However, some students struggle to keep up with other members of the class, while others must wait for the class to catch up before moving on to new learning. I am utilizing the “Flipped” Classroom model to personalize learning for my Calculus students. Using the “Flipped” Classroom model, students complete knowledge-level assignments outside of class (previewing new learning resources, generating questions, applying knowledge to complete assignments, etc.) By doing this work outside of class, students come to class prepared to ask questions and prepared to
apply higher-level thinking skills to solve problems and complete projects.
