React to Reading

Each year, I try to think of innovative ways to encourage students to become life-long lovers of reading. Through the ARI grant, I have been allowed to purchase a wide variety of literature circle reading materials. I know the reading materials I purchased will be high interest. How do I know this? Student voice. Students chose the titles of interest, of various levels and genres. After I received the grant, our class researched reading materials and voted on books they would like to read. As we read our novels, students will post reaction videos on our YouTube channel “REACT TO READING.” In addition, students will post reading tips and strategies on our channel as well. Keep an eye out for “REACT TO READING.”
