October 2016 Presentation:
My project is called Middle School Makeover…A Starbucks for kids. My students will be given the opportunity to redesign their middle school math classroom in a way that incorporates flexible seating while simultaneously creating a “homey and welcoming” environment. Throughout this project students will have to use different math techniques to decide what is the “better buy.” So far we have conducted a survey in which 100% of my students stated that they have never been given an opportunity such as this, as well as, 100% said they do not think they can reach their fullest potential in a “traditional” classroom setting. They have also discussed the pros and cons of this redesign and we hope to create solutions to any predicted problems next. I am excited to put my students in the drivers seat and see where they go!!
