Biography

My project involved the use of a MacBook Air to improve student comprehension and Math skills. Twenty-one 3rd grade students used this computer to create and produce presentations that displayed their knowledge of Reading and Math skills to be shared with other students. Students used the MacBookAir to create four, 5-10 minute teaching videos that displayed knowledge of enduring skills chosen from the Kentucky Core Academic Standards. They exhibited a proficient use of the video-making by working on the last video project independently. To measure the success of the videos, the class previewed each video as it was made and critiqued the video using a rubric. According to my student growth-goal documentation, student comprehension increased an average of 38% since August.
