S.T.A.R.S. Mini Grant Recipient
The students of Paintsville Independent School System want to be the primary supplier of customized t-shirts for their school by starting a t-shirt business called “Tiger Tees.” With the purchase of a t-shirt press, transfers, an Easy Prints Success Kit, and plain t-shirts, students will be able to better customize t-shirts which will help in accommodating some of the smaller school teams and clubs such as archery, band, academic team, etc. This t-shirt business would be sustainable for years to come and would greatly reduce our need to have fundraisers to earn money for school field trips and classroom supplies for the students. Paintsville Elementary students will use the t-shirt press to provide a good that is always in high demand. The need for updated t-shirts is ongoing as sports and academic teams make their way into the finals and regionals. The profits earned from the t-shirt business will help to fund school trips, classroom needs, and student needs. Because of the creation of ongoing revenue, it will decrease the need for additional fundraisers. The project’s success will be judged by the revenue created and the lessoning of dependence from outside sources.
