Cav Cast News
My problems of implementing a blended learning environment are as follows: students have inadequate training with technology; students lack motivation and support from within themselves and home; students do not accept responsibility for their own learning; and there is a dislocated relationship between students, teachers, school, and community. Jenkins Independent is trying to improve communication among school and community, but it needs more avenues.
This project seeks to demonstrate to students the connection between setting goals and accomplishing a task. Students will use a variety of skills to collaboratively plan and create a school newscast. I also plan to use textbooks, virtual platforms, local newscasts, and guest lecturers to support student learning. Students will apply learning to create a newscast on a regular basis to build school pride and motivate the students within themselves to achieve goals. This way of blended learning will allow my students to learn in class, online, from others, as well as become teachers and producers of a final product.
Modern Classroom
I believe that this opportunity would support my ideas on providing new engaging methods of teaching and delivering materials that students would be motivated to complete and use the “learning” to make it lifelong impact on the students.
