The purpose of the Walking Club is to inspire healthy eating, environmental awareness and fitness as a way of life. This program will give our students an alternative to a healthier lifestyle and to develop self-esteem to better cope with negative peer pressure. Not only will the Walking Club benefit our students, but our staff as well. A healthier body means fewer missed schools days and maximizes the opportunity for learning. In order for our school to make this we plan on building a walking track and using that to incorporate our health and fitness plans. Through our classes and programs, we hope to instill a love for wellness by developing and encouraging fitness in order to make Hazard Middle School a healthier place for all.
