Ben Stephens – ARI Innovations Mini Grant

During snow days, our school utilized http://www.edmodo.com in order to continue student learning during these nontraditional instructional days. The educational videos (quizzes, new material, reviews, etc.) were recorded with the camera and then downloaded onto the computer, uploaded to YouTube and then to Edmodo. This gave the students an opportunity to continue to improve upon their ASL skills even when we weren’t in a traditional classroom setting. My session will be an opportunity to show everyone the possibilities that are associated with my class. You will be able to see some student work samples, as well as how students can access class lessons if they are absent, or if they simply want to review what has been covered. I will also be showing how, in the near future, my class can be used by other schools systems to offer American Sign Language at their school.
