Lisa Bevins Salyer Appalachian Leadership Lab

This program is based on Stephen Covey’s 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Through the implementation of this program, students are equipped with the skills that they need to become productive citizens in this 21st century digital world. This was the inspiration for designing the project, “Leadership and Character Education in the Digital Age.” This project allowed for collaboration between colleagues provided a source of instructional tools, created 24/7 access, and allowed students to learn through a variety of educational tools. Observations,pre-and post-assessments, student blogs, student presentations, peer, and self-evaluations were used to monitor the success of the project. The ultimate indicator of success is watching students naturally incorporating the language, being creative, taking initiative, and setting goals independently.
